British Small Business Awards 2017: Online Business of the Year shortlist

Our next shortlist release celebrates the small businesses most impressive in using online to elevate their revenues.

The British Small Business Awards 2017, organised by SmallBusiness.co.uk and GrowthBusiness.co.uk, sponsored by Travelers, Salesforce and Dun & Bradstreet and held on November 1 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London, is the leading awards ceremony in the SME space, rewarding the brightest stars of the UK small business scene, together with the vendors and advisers that help them start, run, grow and succeed.

Our latest shortlist announcement is the Online Business of the Year category.

This category will recognise online businesses of less than 50 total staff. The judges will assess the companies that have made the best use of their online platform, as well as look for consistent/growing sales over the past year, a niche position in its industry, longevity, and/or outstanding innovation.

After careful consideration and a close scrutiny of how each candidate matched up to the criteria, the Online Business of the Year finalists are revealed as:

Beer Hawk
Dowsing and Reynolds
EquiNutritive
icelolly.com
Leadstream
New Skills Academy
RunAClub
Secret Linen Store
SmartSurvey
UK Trade Furnishings

A new category this year, the Online Business of the Year finalists are all excellent examples of how companies can maximise the internet to represent their brand in the most resonant way. These candidates have all elevated their companies with the power of digital, engaging with their customer base using techniques from data monitoring to social marketing and beyond.

The British Small Business Awards is the leading celebration of the UK’s small business sector, recognising the nation’s best sole traders, micro businesses and small companies – as well as the service providers, financiers and advisers that support them.
