Hi Clive

I have a question about VAT.
I am in the process of leasing a new Ind Unit, originalie the paperwork gave the impression that it would be £10.50psf x2142sf. But on my offer to the landlord to lease i was told that it was advise by there people to be £1.00psf. Stretching my budget i have been able to incur this, but through my nivatie, i have been hit with VAT. Now having to pay 6mnths deposit due to no trading history, this is a cost i could do with out. I have spoken to the estate agent about there client re calculating values to incur this VAT, as they will be VAT registered, they can claim it back, unlike me. As i won't be earning enough to be registered.

Now the question that has been thrown at me is that i can try for a VAT dispensation on this & should hopefully be able to do it as a contra flow with HM Revenue.

Can you please advise if this is true, how to do or what other alternative i can take?

cheers mike
