The search is on for BritainÂ’s most enterprising young people, in a campaign and awards scheme run by the Daily Mail newspaper.

The awards, sponsored by Lloyds TSB, are open to anyone aged 30 and under and are split into the following five categories:

– Business entrepreneur: open to anyone who has used their ideas to start their own business

– Community – for those whose ideas and enterprise have helped their local community

– Creative – to recognise enterprise in the arts, fashion industries

– Employee – aimed at anyone who has shown exceptional talent and innovation at work

– Teen – open to anyone under the age of 20

“Events like this can showcase talent and give young people the recognition they deserve. This is why we were so keen to become involved,” said Stephen Pegge, head of communications at Lloyds TSB. He added that the bank was keen to help foster a change in attitude that would see as many young people starting businesses here as in the US.

The awards will be presented by Chancellor Gordon Brown at a London ceremony in November. For an entry form, telephone 0115 -979 1129, or write to Daily Mail Enterprising Young Brits, PO Box 6730, Nottingham NG70 1AJ. You can also download an entry form from www.dailymail.co.uk/youngbrit

The closing date for entries is 27 October, and you can only enter a maximum of two categories.
