The British Small Business Awards 2017, organised by SmallBusiness.co.uk and GrowthBusiness.co.uk, sponsored by Travelers, Salesforce and Dun & Bradstreet and held on November 1 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London, is the leading awards ceremony in the SME space, rewarding the brightest stars of the UK small business scene, together with the vendors and advisers that help them start, run, grow and succeed.
We are pleased to make our second shortlist announcement for the British Small Business Awards: the Micro Business of the Year category.
Our Micro Business of the Year will be a company of 2-9 people that has demonstrated strong revenue growth and a product or service of a quality that stands above competitors. The identifying of and capitalising on scale opportunities will also be noted by the judges.
We received a multitude of entrants in this category, and narrowing it down to ten finalists was a difficult job. After careful consideration and a close scrutiny of how each candidate matched up to the criteria, the Micro Business of the Year finalists are revealed as:
Abrasive Finishing Systems
Claudi & Fin
Clouds and Currents
Cotswold RAW
Magenta Financial Planning
Motor Trade Delivery
Sublime Science
TCS
Techsixtyfour
Think Tenders
Turtle Tots
This is a critically important category representing, in terms of business size, the bulk of our readership at SmallBusiness.co.uk. The companies shortlisted have all demonstrated impressive revenues and an approach to their sector that sets them apart from their peers.
It’s an exciting time to be a business of this size. With just 2-9 employees, companies are small and agile enough to respond quickly to changes in the market but developed enough to be established and respected in their sector. Companies of this size are well placed for growth and we are confident the candidates in our shortlist are on the road to bigger things, most likely in the near future.
The British Small Business Awards, taking place on November 1 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London, is the leading celebration of the UK’s small business sector, recognising the nation’s best sole traders, micro businesses and small companies – as well as the services providers and advisers that support them.
