Franchising 'can bring returns within the first few months'

People new to business should consider starting a franchise before starting up their own business alone, it has been claimed.
Writing in the Franchise Magazine, entrepreneur Rachel Elnaugh advises people to consider franchising as an alternative to starting from scratch because of the lower start-up costs and quicker returns.
The publication reports that according to Ms Elnaugh, it often takes at least two years for a small business to make a profit.
In contrast, she says, franchisees can see profit after only one or two months, the magazine reports.
Ms Elnaugh comments to Franchise Magazine: 'It's important not to underestimate the value of the practical training, guidance and good old fashioned moral support that is provided not just by the franchisor but from co-franchisees.'
Advertising and marketing are also easier with an established brand, she remarks to the publication.
The British Franchise Association is currently looking for entrants to the Franchisee of the Year Awards - to be announced on October 2nd.
