British Small Business Awards 2017: Small Business of the Year shortlist

The Small Business of the Year finalists at the British Small Business Awards have been announced, rewarding the company of 10-50 employees with the most innovative and sector-disrupting service/product combined with strong turnover growth over the past year.

The British Small Business Awards 2017, organised by SmallBusiness.co.uk and GrowthBusiness.co.uk, sponsored by Travelers, Salesforce and Dun & Bradstreet and held on November 1 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London, is the leading awards ceremony in the SME space, rewarding the brightest stars of the UK small business scene, together with the vendors and advisers that help them start, run, grow and succeed.

We are pleased to make the first shortlist announcement for the event: our Small Business of the Year category.

In this category, the judges will look for a small business of 10-50 total staff with the most innovative and sector-disrupting service/product combined with strong turnover growth over the past year.

The Small Business of the the Year finalists are revealed as:

Better2Know
Give as you Live (Everyclick)
Gripit Fixings
Headstart App
PayAsUGym
Promethean Particles
Rotageek
Samuel Knight
SmartSurvey
UK Trade Furnishings

Our Small Business of the Year category contains a wealth of impressive companies that have shown strong growth, having gained an extensive customer base, impressive revenues and profit margins and, above all, a product or service that has a real edge against competition. In the previous year or two, some of these candidates will have been in our Micro Business of the Year category reserved for companies with 2-9 total staff, but headcount has grown along with turnover and the businesses with the scale plans have achieved what they set out to do.

From this point, the sky is the limit for these companies. With turnover in the millions, they are sure to be pushing on even further, innovating their offering, winning new contracts, opening new offices and making waves in the marketplace for long into the future. Watch out FTSE 100.
