A recent survey shows that 66% of content marketing organisational goals focus on lead generation. While the number certainly proves that companies are putting considerable effort in their lead generation endeavors, Hubspot’s statistics show, however, that 80% of marketers find their lead generating efforts as only slightly or somewhat effective.
When you put the survey result and Hubspot’s statistics together, it tells us that there’s something wrong with how companies are running their lead generation campaigns. After all, if they are happy with the way their lead generation endeavors are turning out, then 80% of them wouldn’t be tagging their efforts as “slightly” or “somewhat” effective.
Are you struggling with the same thing as a solopreneur?
Are your lead generation efforts getting you very little to no results at all?
If you answered with a resounding “yes,” then I promise you that you’re in the right place.
I’m going to share with you 3 lead generation marketing tips for solopreneurs that work like magic.
Let’s hop right in.
1. Use an email scraper tool to find your prospect clients’ emails.
These are three of the most common ways that solopreneurs or marketers are using to find their prospects’ email addresses:
- They search for it manually. As in, they go to the site, click through several pages until they find what they’re looking for.
- They pay someone to do this for them. (This one can be quite costly.)
- They use online email scraper tools.
I don’t know which methods you’re using. But if you’ll allow me to share my unsolicited advice, I would encourage you to go for the latter — using online email scraper tools to help you find an email address that your prospect client is using. When it comes to email scraping tools, voilanorbert.com is one of the most trusted in the marketing space.

You just need to enter your prospect’s name and email address in VoilaNorbert’s platform…
Click the green, “Go Ahead, Norbert!” button…
Then the tool will scrape your prospect’s website for you so you can find your prospect’s email address.
Here’s how the platform would look as soon as it’s done scraping your prospect’s website.
The tool is pretty awesome, isn’t it?
With online email scraper tools, you won’t have to waste countless hours clicking from one page to another to find your prospect’s email — the email scraper tool can find it for you in seconds.
Once you have your prospect’s email, you can then reach out to them so you can uncover opportunities where you can both collaborate, or you can qualify them as a lead.
2. Optimise your subject lines, headlines, and call-to-actions
I get it. The chances are you’ve already read this advice in a lot of places online.
While I’d rather not include this point in my guide, I just had to add it considering how I’m seeing bajillions of solopreneurs or marketers using boring or poorly crafted subject lines, headlines of CTAs (call-to-actions) despite how important these elements are.
According to Convince and Convert, 35% of email recipients will decide whether to open emails or not based on subject lines alone.
Friends, 35% is a huge number.
If 35% of your list isn’t opening your email messages, then I promise you that you’re leaving truckloads of money on the table.
Copyblogger also mentions that only 20% of individuals read beyond the headline of a post. These numbers prove that properly wording your subject lines, headings, and CTAs are extremely important.
If you’re oblivious about how to create compelling headlines, then you can try these tips for starters.
- Use words that paint a mental picture.
- Use active words.
- Keep ‘em short.
- Use questions.
- Mention a benefit.
- Mention a problem.
While there are several ways to optimize your copy, using the six points that I shared above should point you in the right direction.
When your audience is clicking your emails, reading your content, and are taking action on your CTAs, you’d be able to grow your leads exponentially!
3. Use webinars to engage your audience
For a lot of solopreneurs, webinars are the next best thing since sliced bread.
With how webinars can be used to generate sales, audience engagement, and improve brand awareness (and generating leads, of course), it’s no wonder 60% of marketers were using webinars as part of their content marketing strategy at one point.
If you try a webinar app, you’ll soon realize that it’s really easy to setup.
For example, if you’ll use Clickmeeting, the best webinar software in the market (in my opinion), you’d be able to start your webinar in no time.
After signing up for a 30-day trial account using your Facebook account (which only takes seconds), you will then be able to start setting up your event.
Here’s how their setup page looks.
Customising your registration page is also dead easy to do.
As you can probably imagine, there are several other ways you can customize your webinars. You just need to go to the appropriate tabs (e.g., Waiting Room, Appearance, Settings, etc.) to start customizing your event.
Now that you have an idea how easy to it to fire-up your webinar, here’s a bird’s-eye view of how you can use webinars to generate truckloads of leads.
- Run instructional webinars that addresses your audience’s pain points. To figure out what their pain points are, you can use Quora or niche related forums.
- Once you have your webinar setup, you can start sharing your event’s link across all channels that you have access to like your social media profiles or your website/s.
Of course, don’t forget to share your link on the niche related forums or to other sites where you can see your audience frequently voice out their problems.
- As you start your webinar, address as many of your audiences’ questions or problems as much as you can. That way, joining your webinar would be worth their time.
- Once you’re done with your webinar, you can have them sign up to your newsletters. That way, you’d be able to nurture your relationship with them and have a higher chance of them buying your products when you pitch it to them in the future.
Note: You can also have them sign up to your newsletters before your webinar starts (or as you go along). It all depends on how you’ll structure your funnel.
