Andorra

Fancy living in the mountains for hiking, biking, or skiing, and with the significant bonus of some of the lowest tax rates in Europe? Andorra may be the perfect solution for you.

The Andorran parliament passed the decree (‘Decret’) that made a digital nomad visa possible in November 2023. There was little publicity about it on launch and the details the government have published are only available in Catalan.

Name of visa: D.3. Residència per a nòmada digital

Length of visa: up to 2 years.

Can I extend my visa? Yes. By another 3 years for the second application.

Requirements: The main technical requirements include: Valid passport, Proof that your work qualifies as a digital nomad (e.g. employer contract or client certification showing what work you do and that it can be completed remotely), Valid health insurance, and Proof of sufficient funds.

However, the key to obtaining the visa is that the applicant can prove that they will contribute to the development of the digital economy or provide other innovative benefits. There are only 50 ‘nomad’ visas available – and another 50 for its ‘entrepreneurship programme’. Very exclusive!

Minimum salary: Three times the current minimum wage, which is about £4,000 per month as of 2024.

Fees: There is an application fee – euro2,500, – and then you will need a residents card, which is euro500.

How to apply: See link above.
