What rights do employees have with regard to smoking, and does the employer have a legal obligation to provide a smoking area off the premises?
On July 1st 2007, England introduced a new law to make virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces in England smokefree.

It states that ‘there is no requirement to provide smoking shelters. It is common for health-focused employers not to spend money creating places for smokers to congregate.’
